Our Story

Sabina Ramsey, Mia Rhenman and Jenny Powell met each other at the Old Swedes Santa Lucia celebrations. All three moms were new to the area and they figured that with ten children all together they could start a school to encourage their children to speak Swedish and be proud of their heritage.

They met over a cup of coffee in early 2005 and continued meeting each other regularly all spring and summer until all questions was answered and all necessary paper work was filled out and filed. Luckily, Malin Benoit, joined the group. She took the role as the first teacher for the school. Also, Johan Christenson was invited to participate on the schools board.
